Calls for Submissions For Writers
Lethe Press wants previously published speculative fiction starring lesbian-identified women for the 2017 edition of Heiresses of Russ, an annual best-of anthology. Details:
Heiresses of Russ 2017 edited by Dayna Ingram and Steve Berman
Like past volumes of our Heiresses of Russ series, Lethe Press is seeking quality works of the fantastic, the weird, the wondrous involving women and transwomen who identify as lesbian for the 2017 volume. Everything from space opera to horror is fair game. It is recommended that authors read past volumes to get a feel for the editor’s tastes. All stories must have been previously published during 2016 (and we are only seeking stories that were first published that year). Submissions should be sent to the attention of Joe via email at firstname.lastname@example.org with the header Russ17 Submission. Please inform us in the body of the email where the story was published in 2016. We encourage authors who have a diverse background to submit. Payment is upon publication and will range from $25 to $100 depending on the length of the work. Stories must be submitted by the deadline of April 30, 2017.
This blog is queer-friendly. I strive to ensure that all submission calls I post are open to works with queer/LGBTQIA characters and themes. I do this by checking the publisher's back catalog, submissions policies,or business practices, or by communicating with the publisher directly.
Please contact the publisher through the links in the post if you have questions about a submission call. Contact me if you've had a bad experience with a publisher featured here.
