An April 14 press release from the Russian LGBT Network:
The Russian LGBT Networks continues its effort to evacuate people, who are being persecuted, tortured, illegally prosecuted, and murdered based on their (assumed) homosexuality. We have all the evidence to believe that these horrid activities are still in place in the Chechen Republic.
The Caucus hotline was established on the 29th of March. Since then we have received around 50 calls from people, who are still in the area and are in need of an urgent evacuation, and from people, who managed to relocate themselves, yet still, need assistance.
The Russian LGBT Network not only coordinates the evacuation, but also provides psychological help, financial and medical assistance, and other things displaced people from Chechnya might need. Since it is dangerous for most of those persecuted to remain in Russia, the Network also works hard helping the victims to relocate abroad.
To this day, neither the Russian Investigative Committee nor the General Prosecutor’s Office reacted in any way to the reports of the criminal activities and Chechnya officials’ statements. …
